Nappa and Vegeta descend on Earth, and a Saibaman buries Yamcha. Under Nappa's rampage Chiaotzu self-destructs, Tien spends his last strength, and Piccolo takes a fatal blow shielding Gohan. Kami dies with him, and Earth's Dragon Balls are gone for good. At that brink Goku, having finished Snake Way and his training on King Kai's planet, arrives late to the field.
